Japanese Haori
Kimono tops
Japanese
Haori straight from Japan! These are authentic vintage
Japanese Haori Kimono
style shirts are in excellent condition and are made from
cloth patterns and colors that are no longer made today.
They are light weight, soft and comfortable and can easily
be worn over a tank top or a turtleneck on a cooler day.
They can be worn as elegant evening wear or over jeans for
a fun, yet casual outfit.
The Japanese Haori is a mid-length top that was originally
worn over a kimono. It is very versatile and can be worn
casually with jeans or formally with silk pants, a skirt
or even over a dress. These gorgeous Kimono tops can also
be displayed on a wall as art work, for those who want to
enjoy their beauty all the time. Though they were traditionally
worn only on one side, their linings are so stunning that
in some cases they are more interesting worn inside out.
The inside seams are not visible, so no one would ever know
it is being worn on the opposite side…you will be
getting two Haori's in one!

These hand crafted ceramic expresso
cups are made by the Baldelli Studio in Città
di Castello, Perugia, Italy. The Baldelli family has been
in the ceramics business for four generations. They personally
work on all phases of production, preserving a continuity
of historic and contemporary ceramic technique. Creative
and technical innovation continues today at the Baldelli
Studio.
NotAMall is very proud to offer you these gorgeous expresso
cups.
Dante Baldelli was the first in the family to work in ceramics,
starting in the 1920's. He later became the director of
the Ceramica Rometti di Umbertide. His works are displayed
in museums throughout Italy as well as abroad. In the 1940's,
he moved his workshop to Citta di Castello, where he started
the Baldelli Ceramic Company. Soon after that his oldest
son, Massimo took over the business as the company gained
notoriety.
During the 1980's, Massimo Baldelli's daughter Simona and
her husband Lorenzo Colacicchi joined the family business
and soon created more innovative techniques. This work led
to partnerships with well-known companies such as Mikasa,
Crate & Barrel, and Macy's.
The Baldelli Studio moved
to the country in the rolling hills outside Citta di
Castello in the early 1990's where they operate to this
day. With an eye to a smaller but more discriminating market,
the studio now concentrates on craftsmanship with a focus
towards unique design and glazing techniques such as the
Intonaco glaze on these expresso
cups.
During
the last 5 years, a new generation has joined the business.
Luca Colacicchi, the great grandson of the original founder
has become a major contributor and as history repeats itself,
the Baldelli Studio continues to excel in its craft.
All handmade objects contain slight variation
... this is their special charm! All Baldelli ceramic
glazes are lead free.
