This charming Inn dates back to 1855, when Key West’s first millionaire William Curry began building it. The architectural details are common to wreckers, incorporating elements of many ports-of-call: the widow's walk of New England, the ornate trellises and balustrades of New Orleans and the columns and colonnades of the Deep South. Curry's son Milton completed the Mansion in 1899, furnishing it with the 18th-century antiques and Victorian pieces gracing the parlor today. It is now owned and operated by Edith Amsterdam, who purchased it in 1975 with her husband Al, and has lived in it ever since.
Nestled alongside the original Curry Mansion, the Inn offers 28 elegant, romantic rooms. Most open onto a sparkling pool and are surrounded by the lush foliage of the Curry Estate. Like the Mansion, rooms are beautifully appointed in wicker and antiques and offer private baths and phones, wet bars, air conditioning, ceiling fans and cable television. Other amenities include parking, a hot tub and swimming pool that are open 24-hours a day. Guests enjoy the finest amenities, including a full deluxe breakfast, and full access to the 22-room mansion built by Florida's first millionaire family. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They will gladly help you plan any special activities, dining, sports or fishing arrangements. And if that isn’t enough, the Inn has a daily open bar cocktail party with a piano player held on the back patio or on the gorgeous front wrap-around porch. At any time of day, no matter what room you find yourself in, you can easily be transported back in time in this romantic setting.
The Inn is located just a few steps away from the famous Duval Street where you can find endless choices of restaurants, bars, night clubs and shops.
